The Dangerous Reality of a Nuclear Iran

As a writer I sought ideas for a thriller novel I wanted to write. I wanted a character that had to embark on a dangerous mission somewhere that would create a rippling effect across the globe. My inspiration for THE SANDMAN came when I learned of Iran's nuclear program. However, the reality of Iran becoming nuclear power is far more dangerous than people realize.
When my novel was released I had many compliments for the action and detail that pleased readers. When it was announced in Sept 2009 that Iran had 2 nuclear reactors I had readers contact me and ask, "Where did you get your crystal ball!"
Although my novel THE SANDMAN is a fictional story about a saboteur on a mission to destroy the nuclear reactor in Iran, the scenario that takes place could very well become real as the situation develops in the Middle East.
Every country in the world has the right to govern themselves as they see fit. Every country has a right to pursue nuclear power, but does that mean they should? As we know the dangers of nuclear power in the wrong hands, questions should be asked of the intention of those seeking nuclear energy. This especially as the present Iranian Government has demonstrated a support of global terrorism and its desire to wipe Israel off the map!
I do not believe the U.S. is wrong in trying to prevent the Iranian Government's attempts of acquiring nuclear power when one considers how dangerous and volatile the situation in the Middle East already is. I also believe Iran has a right to govern itself, but until they demonstrate a peaceful attitude toward all neighbors and denounce terrorism, it is the whole world's responsibility to prevent them from becoming a nuclear power.

Keep on reading!
